30 Jan Boden’s New Arrivals: Petiterie’s Picks
The truth is, checking out the petite selection at England-based Boden usually leaves me feeling cranky because what I like is invariably sold out in my size by the time I get around to looking. So, I made a note to self this year to try to time a pounce in late January, as the new arrivals for spring are just coming on the scene, to see if it would make a difference. It did. There are plenty of choices in petite sizing at Boden right now — not all my cup of Earl Grey tea, but enough to keep me from muttering an “Aw, bloody ‘ell!” this time.
I just love the idea of embroidering some beautiful flowers on a utility jacket — refreshing and lively and extremely perfect for springtime.
Here’s the first of two pairs of pants they’ve made with great features for petites. In this case, it’s a lengthening side stripe on these wide leg pants.
Here’s the second: sailor-styled jeans, with another visually elongating vertical line in the form of a series of buttons at the hips.
I’m so drawn to this jersey skirt. First of all, it’s fun and full of stretchy goodness. Also, assymetrical hems are one of the best skirt styles to wear when you are petite. Plus… the closely situated stripes create a ladder effect that lengthens the vertical line, making this option even more petite-friendly.
I guess I’m in the mood for a dress, because three are calling to me. This one is so pure and classic in form, and ready for so many ways to change it up with different accessories… a skimming sweater on a cooler day, an interesting belt, colorful acrylic bangles, and on and on.
A very wonderful casual dress for kicking around in (same ladder effect as the skirt in this post). Sneakers and a jean jacket. Pair of sunnies. Belt bag. Out the door you go.
A very promising looking wrap dress, and I do so like it in this vivid and energizing red.
And with these kitten-heeled sling-backs. These are the kind of shoes that you might do a hem-and-haw over initially (“Will I really get enough use of them?”) and then end up wearing endlessly and getting compliments up the wazoo.
