Curvy Petite

I say it’s high time for a new post featuring selections for my curvy petite readers. Here’s what currently earns Petiterie’s nod…

This well-cut, classic velvety (it’s actually velveteen, the cotton cousin of velvet) blazer has a place in everyone’s closet.

The subtly tapered waist and peplum at the bottom up the flatter-factor and make this jacket a standout. The coloring of the print is more toned down in person than the picture suggests, which I find appealing.

I’ve been a fan of coated jeans for some time, and I am head over inseams for these in “silver foil”, which I would make part of winter pastel outfit, for one styling option.

This pale pink cashmere sweater (with its scaled down portrait collar that would not overwhelm petite proportions as many a portrait collar can) is what I’m thinking of to top off those silvery jeans. Winter white would be quite lovely, too.

I get why these velveteen pants made their way onto the list of Oprah’s Favorite Things. The’ve got an exceptional blend of great style, high wearability, and reasonable price point, that is still too rare a bird in curvy petite sizing. Their high-waisted, leg elongating construction make them extra petite-frienldy, too.

This drapey cardigan smartly wraps soft and cozy plush faux-fur around to the inside for lining.

A twist at the waist, a soft fit, and stretch knit make for a highly flattering maxi dress.

Deep, rich plums are a favorite of mine for cooler weather – wearing this hue tonight to a wedding, in fact. The other colors this midi dress comes in (vine green, charcoal, and a deep teal, to name a few) are also quite lovely.
