Extended Size Petites at Talbots

This round of new arrivals in extended petite sizes is fabulous. Period. Here are my tip-top picks:

It’s fleece lined, which makes it all the more useful (and yummy-cozy) and why it’s my favorite of the bunch.

A fall French mademoiselle turtleneck, in ivory and black, that would be magnifique under that quilted vest. Don’t shy away from thin, narrowly spaced stripes like these because they are on the horizontal; they actually create a lengthening “ladder effect”.

The textured chevron stripe at the v-neck and down the center of this sweater is a subtle and very effective way to create a longer visual line.

I’m a huge fan of this Merino wool sweater blazer because of its great proportions, and this rich berry tone is such a nice color for fall.

This crepe and lace dress is my kind of LBD; otherwise simple, with one standout detail for interest – in this case the pretty lace that starts at the shoulders and continues down to flared sleeves – that keeps it classic and wearable for multiple occasions and seasons.

Really good office-appropriate pants in extended petite sizing that aren’t either black or navy are rarer specimens than they ought to be. This charcoal color is stupendous, and they also come in burgundy and brown… and black and navy, of course.

An excellent dark rinse and a smaller proportioned boot cut – they call it “barely boot” – are what win my love here.
