HauteLook: Petiterie’s Picks

HauteLook is part of the Nordstrom group, like Nordstrom Rack is, offering discounted clothing (including petites), home, and beauty items. Every day, they list a group of “events”, where they curate offerings by a featured topic. Events (you can sign up for free to get alerts about them) start at 8 am PST, and run for a limited time. Like Gilt, if you’re familiar with that. Here’s a smattering of recent events to give you an idea: “DR2 by Daniel Rainn under $35, including plus & petites”. “New steals including plus & petites”. “Luxe bedding for every style”. “Best of beauty: makeup, fragrances & more”. There are more petite offerings than you might imagine, which is really quite nice. Some sifting through is necessary, but there are finds to be had, with prices often deeply discounted.

It’s nearly impossible to find white jegging style jeans that aren’t some degree of see-through, isn’t it? Reviews of these report that they are the kind that are not! Woo hoo! Note, though, that the inseam length of the 2P is listed as 26″, which is full-length on just under 5′ me.

I think these dark wash straight legs would be flattering on many. The 2P is listed as having a 25″ inseam, which would hit at ankle-length on me, and I appreciate that.

A “Where’d you get that blazer?” kind of blazer.

I love the looseness of fit on this velour sweatshirt. The color makes it seem that much softer, too.

An easy-going, easy-wearing, grab-for on the regular casual jersey dress, with a petite-friendly v-neck.

This relaxed sweater is perfectly slouchy for an off-duty look.

I love the Spanish sensibility, with a touch of modern kick, about this Uno de 50 necklace. At 17″ long, it’s a good length for a petite frame.

Neutral tones and an airy feel, because of lots of empty space, make this a good choice for a petite wrist. It’s about 2″ thick, but shouldn’t appear too chunky and out of proportion like a solid bangle of that width might otherwise look.
