May Flowers

Even if you’re more of a solids-over-prints person like me, it’s always nice to pop on some blooms this time of year — kind of a personal salute to the warm weather. Take a look at the bouquet I’ve collected below…

I like the subtle, neutral coloring on this shirt dress a lot.

…And the vibrant and energized hues on this satin scalloped elevated version of a tee.

Harness the power of the flower on the vertical. Up-and-down stripes create a lengthening effect visually, which makes them a top styling strategy for petite proportions. This strappy cami is just beautiful on its own, and would look positively smashing under a light skimming cardigan.

Another well-executed example of this concept, with some sleeves. Reviews say order one size down, as it runs a little large.

A desk-to-drinks, classically cut wrap dress. I think the slightly longer short sleeve length is lovely.

I love the flowy-ness of this navy chiffon skirt and the scatter of pink blossoms is just right — any more and it would be too much.

This has to be one of the most gorgeous handkerchief hems I’ve seen. I am totally gaga for this versatile midi length dress, which could be so beautiful dressed down for day with flat sandals and so stunning for evening with strappy nude heels.

Kind of like a bud vase on a tabletop — a single flower can be just the thing. These rainbow colored resin flower stud earrings by Masfemme out of Austin, TX, are beautiful, well-proportioned statement earrings for a petite frame, and look way more expensive than they are.
