A great way to extend a helping hand and make a difference in someone else’s life is probably hanging in your closet right now!

Here are two amazing — and also incredibly easy — ways I’ve found to put clothes and accessories you find yourself no longer wearing to very good use. I use them both.

This wonderful charitable effort supported by many of your favorite retailers will create a free prepaid shipping label for you to print that will route your items to the closest participating clothing donation charity (mine get sent to Goodwill). You just fill any sturdy shipping box you already have (like the box new clothes you bought online came in), attach the label, and either send it along with your USPS mail or drop it off at any USPS or UPS location. You can track your packages and get a receipt. It’s a great way to recycle old boxes, too.

This unique and superb non-profit specializes in resale of women’s contemporary and designer clothes and accessories. They will create a free prepaid UPS shipping label for you to print and place on a box you already have OR send you a free prepaid donation bag to fill and drop off at any UPS location. 75% of the sale price goes to a charity of your choosing – either from their list or one you designate – and the remainder goes to the non-profit’s operating costs. You will get a receipt. Shopping here yourself means the dollars you spend go towards support of a worthy cause.

Stay tuned for more!
