11 Jun Pool Slides
I think it’s time to wave off the pool slide’s old rep as “comfort over fashion” shoes, most famously represented by Mark Zuckerberg back in the eighties. They’ve just gotten so damn cute lately, and everybody seems to be in on the trend, making their own version of them. They are thankfully still high on comfort, only now they’re looking way snazzier. Even the latest slides by Adidas, the original inventors of this genre, have taken on some spiff. As a bonus for those of us of smaller-scaled proportion, most have a nice little platform for an extra bit of loft. And many come in sizing all the way down to 5 (all of those I’ve got for you today in this post do).
For all you Birkenstockies. This instantly identifiable, iconic look was just born to be a pool slide.
I am really into these slides by Steve Madden with their gorgeous snakeskin printed top straps, and their go-with-anything grey color.
No more clunky. Today’s Adidas “Adilettes” are still all-in relaxed and comfy, and still have their famously great supportive arch, but there’s a new sleekness to them.
Shimmer for the swimmer. These slides by Katy Perry come in an assortment of metallic options — this soft lilac color is my favorite.
Ted Baker’s perforated design on the strap, on another metallic option, is really intricate and lovely.
These look very much like something Lilly Pulitzer would do.
And if you’re of a mind to splurge, you’ve got plenty of options. I really love the sporty look of these slides by Gucci.
And these “Poolstars” by Golden Goose for their wet and wild vibe.
