Puffer Coats for Petite Proportions

Until recently, I’ve shied away from puffer coats for bundling up because in past years, they’ve tended to not be particularly flattering, and for petite women especially, their volume was always quite a challenge to pull off. No one wants be mistaken for a balloon at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Fast forward to now, though, and I’ve been seeing a good number of sleeker, nicely proportioned coats out there. Here are Petiterie’s top picks in puffery.

Quilting that runs in angled channels to the waist and smocking under the arms are features that enhance the sleek and figure-flattering look of this coat.

Menswear-inspired plaid adds a crisp, tailored feel to this Dorothy Perkins puffer.

The glorious red color plays the starring role in the story of this clean-lined puffer.

This ash gray cocoon coat is a cozy wonder (I love saying cocoon and coat in one breath)– and is my favorite of the bunch.

The smaller-in-scale chevron patterned quilting on this coat works especially well for petite proportions.

For maximum toastiness, this full-length option by Dennis Basso has a beautiful slim line and is lightweight, even with all the extra length.

Cinching at the back of this puffer accentuates the waist a touch on this very lovely winter white puffer coat.

A puffer-look jacket for milder weather, that also happens to be reversible in a very well-done way.
